A feeder pillar is the box you see standing by the roadside or at the corner of an industrial area. Inside, it takes supply from a cable and splits it out to street lights, buildings or other feeders. Because it lives outdoors, rain, heat, dust and sometimes deliberate tampering all become part of its working life.

Built for the outdoors

Weather protection is the starting point of our design. We use sheet steel or, where the site demands, stainless steel or galvanised construction, with sloped roofs so water runs away. Doors are gasketed, hinges are concealed, and ventilation openings are designed to keep insects and water out. A good pillar should stay dry inside during the monsoon.

The inside layout depends on the use. For street lighting, we may include contactors with timers or photocells for automatic switching. For area supply, you might see a busbar with several outgoing breakers and metering. Earthing points are provided so that the pillar can be properly connected to the earth pit.

Layout, security and installation

Security is a real concern for roadside equipment. We fit locks that resist casual tampering and can add extra hasp arrangements if needed. Cable entry is planned from the bottom with a gland plate, and the pillar is fixed on a plinth so that it stays clear of flooding at ground level.

Tell us where the pillar is going, how many feeders it must serve and whether metering is required. We will propose a design that suits the location. Manufacturing is done at our Greater Noida unit, and delivery is possible across India.

Where it is commonly used

Before you place an order

A feeder pillar sits at ground level, so flooding and water splash are real concerns. We suggest mounting it on a raised plinth and bringing cables in from below with proper glands. Sealing the cable entry helps keep water, insects and rodents out. These are small things, but they extend the life of the pillar.

Think about maintenance access as well. Leave enough space around the pillar to open doors fully and work safely. In busy areas, consider whether traffic might damage it, and place bollards or choose a location that reduces the risk.
